In association with Serenata Orchestra

July 2-8, 2017

This summer marks the inauguration of the Idaho Orchestra Institute. This 6 day intensive experience is designed for college and advanced high school string players. Focused on developing the complete artist, this camp will take young musicians on an exploration of major string orchestra repertoire while developing a deeper connection with their core artist. Through rehearsals, sectionals, daily yoga and open dialogue, students will have the opportunity to delve into repertoire in a way that will establish strong performance practices for years to come.

Alongside these student musicians, a string quartet made up of internationally renowned chamber musicians will coach and mentor participants throughout the week. Ample time will be set aside to connect with, and learn from these leaders in their field. The week will culminate in a performance of repertoire in which the string quartet and string orchestra will share the stage.
