In association with Serenata Orchestra
2019 will be the third year of the Idaho Orchestra Institute. This 6 day intensive experience is designed for college and advanced high school musicians. Focused on developing the complete artist, this camp will take young musicians on an exploration of major orchestral repertoire while developing a deeper connection with their core artist. Through rehearsals, sectionals, daily yoga and open dialogue, students will have the opportunity to delve into repertoire in a way that will establish strong performance practices for years to come.
This year, we include winds, brass and percussion to join us as we explore Brahms Symphony #3.
Alongside these student musicians, a quartet made up of internationally renowned chamber musicians will coach and mentor participants throughout the week. Ample time will be set aside to connect with, and learn from these leaders in their field. The week will culminate in a performance of repertoire in which the string quartet and string orchestra will share the stage.
